How to Cook Brown Rice

Soak the rice for 30 minutes

Generally, white rice can be cooked immediately after washing. However, red rice must be soaked for 30 minutes first. Besides aiming to remove dirt, soaking is also useful for speeding up rice so that it is softer and tastier to eat.

Cook the rice in a 4: 1 ratio

Water plays a role more than the amount of rice. One glass of rice can be filled with 4 cups of water. It might look like too much water, but this method aims to make the rice texture softer.

It’s time to start cooking rice

To cook yourself, you can use two methods, namely on the stove with a traditional system and using a rice cooker. Although the use of a rice cooker speeds up the process, choosing the traditional method gives more delicious rice results. Cook the rice and stir a few times then cover the pot until the water boils.
